CREATE...

I'm always making something. Whether I'm stitching a needlework project, putting together a home-cooked meal, planting a garden or writing a book, my hands are always creating things to enrich my life, my family's life, and the world around me.

What do you like to make? What's your favorite kind of project? What one craft would you take with you to a deserted island? This page is for you. Simply click on any of the thumbnails or links below to be whisked off to the page with complete instructions for each project or idea.

On each of the eight sabbats, a free new Pagan pattern, project, recipe, or activity will be added here. Keep checking back to see what you can create next!

Pattern:Bast

Bast is the cat-headed Egyptian goddess of sensuality, pleasure, healing, and transformation. Her symbols are the unguent (perfumed ointment) jar and the scarab, and her color is green. She was originally considered the "Sekhmet of the Delta" and is one of the two eyes of Ra. The other eye, Sekhmet, is the lioness-headed goddess of unrestrained destruction and healing, and as she became more popular in the united lands of Upper and Lower Egypt, Bast was happy to assume a more gentle role.

Pattern:Kokopeli

Kokopeli is an ancient trickster, fertility, and rain spirit, a sort of southwest American version of the Green Man. In the spring this little figure with the hunched back plays his flute and encourages the rain to turn the desert hills green once again. The raindrops here are represented with metallic silver stitches -- silver or iridescent clear glass beads can be used instead if you prefer.

Pattern:Mimbres Lizard

The pottery of the ancient Mimbres people of prehistoric New Mexico yields many beautiful designs from nature, especially animals like this cute lizard. Use him on a pouch, a circular box, a coaster, or anywhere you'd like a circular southwest design.

Pattern:Lotus Mandala

A simple small flower design you can use on pouches, small boxes, or any other circular area.
