As you wander around Willow's Place and see the mercantile store, the crafting table and the information booth, you notice out of the corner of one eye a little place just over there… it serves no real purpose other than to entertain and inform the visitors, and maybe that's just what you're looking for.

This Month in Pagan History

September 1, 1999: Doreen Valiente, High Priestess of the New Forest Coven with Gerald Gardner, Elder, Teacher, and author of numerous Wiccan books, dies.

September 4, 1986: In the landmark case Dettmer v. Landon, the Federal Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals declares that Wicca/Witchcraft is a religion and is thus legally protected under First Amendment rights.

September 19. 1998: The first annual Pagan Pride Day is held at 18 different locations in the United States and Canada.

September 20 23: Happy Mabon!

September 20. 2001: Victor Anderson, poet, author, Grand Master of the Feri Tradition and teacher of Starhawk among other notable neo-Pagans, dies gently in his home.

September 22, 1692: The last of the Salem Witch Trial hangings take eight lives.
